Canal Fields - Berkhamsted
Canal Fields is the main park in Berkhamsted, with the main Grand Union canal running right past it. With a beautiful open picnic area and a great kids play area, it's a lovely stopping point for a lazy afternoon in the sun. There are plenty of mooring spots on the opposite side of the canal, and it's a convenient place to stop if you want to stock up the kitchen cupboards at Waitrose or take a short walk into Berkhamsted town centre.
How to get here: Canal Fields is located between lock 52 and lock 53. There are 2 footbridges which provide easy access to Canal Fields from the towpath, and there is also a public water point near bridge 140B if you need to refill the tank.
