This ancient trail (also popularly known as 'Britain's Oldest Road') is a total length of 87 miles, and is believed to have been used by drovers and traders for more than 5000 years.
The northern end of the Ridgeway starts at nearby Ivinghoe Beacon and meanders through the countryside, crossing the Grand Union canal just a short walk from our location in Cow Roast. It then continues on to Wendover Woods and Coombe Hill, passing through some quaint little villages along the way. There are also a number of popular circular walks in the area that allow you to explore parts of the Ridgeway.
Now designated a national trail, the Ridgeway provide stunning views and lots of wildlife that can be enjoyed all year round.
